What a really interesting picture. Not quite sure what sort of journey these folks were on, but it had to be ful of adventure and uncertainty. And a lot of searching for resources.

I don't know whether my grandfather and uncle camped in the city or not, but they drove from Los Angeles to the east coast and back with a tent. They camped where they arrived for the night. On the way home when they got to the California border they had to discard the bedding. I guess they thought they might bring bedbugs or something else the state didn't want here. I have the tent in the garage.
