WARNING - Virus alert from spammers (MAbubakar)

Post by Susanne » Wed Aug 09, 2023 6:30 am

The recent spammer MAbubakar has included a link to a virus inducing site in one (maybe more) of their "messages" - click on one by accident and you just exposed yourself.

Did you alert the moderators by clicking on the [!] near the upper right hand corner of their post?

Where does the Ai come from and why? Who is gaining anything by making this? Are japs spying on us trying to learn everything they can about model t’s? I don’t get it. It’s not trying to sell anything it’s just trying to pretend it’s one of us

Of course I did, been doing that all along, but this one is different as I got a virus warning with it.

One can also click on their name to see their profile and add them as a "foe" so post from them will not automatically show up.

Here is how it will display a FOE and you still have the choice to see the post if you want to.

I figured you would. You are pretty good about such things. However, hours later, I found one of their postings had not yet been removed. So I wondered.
I generally will not click on any links unless I know the links or the know the person posting the link well enough tp trust them. Sometimes I may miss out on some legitimate shared story? But I feel safer in the long run.

I find the whole situation bizarre, and quite disturbing. As long as there has been an internet, there have been flakes with the attention span of a cumquat wandering around. And with no knowledge of model TS, or even basic understanding of history they sign up and make a few inappropriate comments, only to quickly lose interest and disappear never to be heard from again.
But this idea of trying to pass off a computer as some sort of "artificial intelligence" I find very disturbing! It reeks of pure evil and every dystopian fiction ever written!
Don't get me wrong here. "Artificial intelligence" could be a very good and beneficial thing. But ONLY if it is made to be that way. ANYTHING that its foundation is a lie, should not ever be trusted! And anyone or anything pretending to be something they are not is a liar!

Dishonesty has been with humanity since they first began to develop language. However, I truly believe that the shear amount of dishonesty among humans is far worse today than it has ever been in the entire history of humanity! (And not because the population is greater!) I cannot walk down an isle in a grocery store without seeing dozens of phony sales hiding ripoff pricing, products that are not at all what they claim to be, or some sort of bait and switch. There isn't a news outlet on the planet that I feel I could trust. In addition, as bad as politics has always been? I do remember political debates being televised that had real issues seriously debated. It has been more than thirty years since I heard any such thing. Everything since as been so scripted and choreographed that nobody could learn anything beyond the clowns at the center of it should not be elected for anything!
And the worst part of all that? I like to talk to people. I like to listen to people. Nearly everyone I talk to, and then listen to? Tells me that is just the way things are. They find it acceptable behavior to be lied to constantly! They just shrug it off, and buy another expensive "organic" fruit drink with a toxic preservative in it.
