Ron Patterson
I did business with Ron with coil rebuilds. He took such good care of me. What a gentleman, nice guy and what a pleasure to do business with. I am amazed with the brotherhood Model T people have. I'm learning. You truly are a great group.

Ron is one of the good guys. He's always taken care of my coil needs and is a great ambassador of the Model T hobby.

Ron is not only a good ambassador to the T community he has a teachers mentality not only to help educate you but he also helps you understand how you can do it. He’s not selfish with his time. Walked me through a generator repair years ago.

Re: Ron Patterson
I purchased 6 rebuilt coils from Ron in 2001. I would say that I don't drive my car a lot, but I have driven it on several long trips, and I have never needed to touch the coils once since I installed them. Never needed to touch the two spares. They've never left the spot under the front seat since I put them there.
Best money I've ever spent on my T. Thank you, Ron.

Ron Patterson truly is one of the best of the best!
An electrical/electronic genius on par with my dad (one would have to have known my dad to understand the level of compliment that is!). Great teacher, article author par excellence, able to explain electrical process in terms normal people can understand. Honest businessman, the list goes on and on.

Re: Ron Patterson
Some years ago, here in the UK, I set out to understand T coils and ignition and he gave me every help.
What I learnt, I passed on to others and many people here now have the understanding and equipment to get the best from their Model Ts.

Ron rebuilt a set of Ford script coils for my 1925 many years ago. I now have over 10,000 miles on the car, and have never removed the lid from the coil box.

Re: Ron Patterson
As I have commented from time to time before, please make the subject line more than just a name by itself, e.g "Ron Patterson Great Guy" or "Another Good Experience with Ron Patterson." In view of the average age of Model T people, seeing a name by itself can initially be worrisome.

Re: Ron Patterson
My initial reaction was worry, as Dick suggests. I was relieved to see that it was much-deserved praise while Ron is still around to enjoy it.

My thoughts too. Just a name often means tragedy.
Happy it's not.

Yes, me too.
When I saw the post
RON PATTERSON
I thought "Oh crap, no, not Ron dead."
What a relief to find a thread of current praise and not memorials.

Re: Ron Patterson
I have never met Ron, which is strange because we lived in the same town (Medway, MA) for years. I have talked with him on the phone, and he did sell me five new coils, four of which which I installed and haven't touched since. The fifth is in a cabinet in the garage because I'm comfortable enough to believe that if It (the T) breaks down on the road the cause will not be the coils. He's a great guy and if I ever have need for more coils he will be getting my call. Now if he would go back to rebuilding starters...

I have a set of Ron’s coils from 20 years ago, working the same as the day he rebuilt them. I will be sending some more in the near future.

Re: Ron Patterson
I was going to ask, “Is Ron okay?”, but then I read a little further and discovered he is okay, thank God. When so much praise is heaped upon a man, it usually means he is gone, but it is nice that, in this case, Ron is still around to read how much he is appreciated and doesn’t have to kick the bucket to find out…Jim Patrick
PS. For the record, I think Ron is a great guy and an asset to the Model T hobby. His advice has benefitted me greatly. We all would be the worse for it if he had developed an interest in Model A’s or Edsel’s instead of Model T’s. We are lucky. Thanks Ron.

Re: Ron Patterson
Give me the roses while I live - This is a sad song by The Carter Family.
Sad but true. If we think a lot of people we should tell them.
Ron has done a lot for me and I appreciate him, I consider him one of the good ones.
https://youtu.be/Y0kHjaTq8zo
Wonderful things of folks are said
When they have passed away
Roses adorn the narrow bed
Over the sleeping clay
Give me the roses while I live
Trying to cheer me on
Useless the flowers that we give
After the soul is gone
Praises are heard not by the dead
Roses they can not see
Let us not wait til souls have flaked
Generous friends to be
Give me the roses while I live
Trying to cheer me on
Useless the flowers that we give
After the soul is gone
Faults are forgiven when they lie
Cold in their narrow bed
Let us forgive them before they die
Now should the words be said
Give me the roses while I live
Trying to cheer me on
Useless the flowers that we give
After the soul is gone
