What is this?

Post by Dan Hatch » Sun Sep 17, 2023 12:03 pm

This came in with some KRW stuff. But don’t think it is anything to do with KRW. Looks like some kind of governor, inside are springs that push against the counter weights.
Any ideas?? Thanks Dan

My guess is that it is part of a governor. Those look like flyweights, and I'm thinking that it is driven by the gear, and the weights control the speed of the shaft with the double disks. Somebody will probably come up with an obvious better answer and I'll have to beat myself with a wet towel.

Some type of governor or distributor shaft for a 30’s era car or close to that time frame. Another one of those parts you might find in a trailer load of parts and pieces you might see at a swap meet.
