pattern for top boot

Post by Waldo » Sun Sep 17, 2023 4:54 pm

My wife would try to make a boot for the top on my 21 touring. Is there some sort of pattern out there? I'm not worried if it is accurate or not, my car is all T but not acurate, basically it is a 21 body on a 26/27 chassis thanks

Why not get one from Clastique.
Mike made mine for my '14, and did an excellent job.

Just get a wide roll of heavy butcher or packing paper and make pattern from folded down top. Did similar making paper patterns for my side curtains that an upholstery shop sewed up.

The top boot would be about 3-5 pieces, the top and bottom, and the sides. Add snaps for closure and then add straps sewn in the upper top, to run over the rear seat and fastened under the seat cushion. The straps keep the top boot from ballooning driving down the road.
