26-27 accessory tail light wiring and switch

Post by Will Brown » Mon Oct 02, 2023 12:05 pm

I have the accessory tail light and license plate bracket which I would like to install/. I need the switch that attaches to the brake pedal. How can I make one? Also how is it wired?

Easy to run a wire from the starter switch to the brake light switch, then a wire from the stop light switch following the tail light wire back to the stop light

Thank you. I didn't know that Lang's had the switch.

A few use the 1928/29 Model A brake light switch mounted under the bottom band inspection plate screw with a bent wire connecting it to the brake pedal.
I know the voices aren't real but damn they have some good ideas!

Besides the options above there is the option of using the lever type brake lite switch as used on a 1949-50 Chevrolet. Mount it such that the forward motion of the brake pedal depresses the lever attached to the under side of the floor board or a homemade bracket. If you go with this switch you can buy a new switch from The Filling Station in Lebanon Oregon.

I think Snyder's and possibly Chaffin's has it too. The repos made years ago, gave a lot of trouble. I understand that the current ones are made in USA and are of better quality.

You can also check with Birdhaven to see if they are making the Fun Projects switch. It is really easy to install and reliable.
