Spare tire carrier question

Will the D style spare tire carrier hold a 30x3.5” Demountable rim?

Yes - they were produced for either - 21" was available in 1925.

Best I can tell, thats true.
A 21" spare carriers mounting arms have a dip in them to make up for the smaller diameter rim.
You really got to know the subtle difference.
I recently learned the hard way buying a 21" carrier looking for a 30x3.5 unit for a friend.
But, the 21" carrier is so much rarer, being a 1 year install.

21" carriers are also drilled on both sides for the later style tail lamp & license holder.

I will remember this. Thank you.
My 21" doesnt have slots to mount the license plate.
There is a 3/8" hole on both sides to fit a tail light stud & 4 1/4 "holes in a paired pattern between.
