Steve Jelf 11/1
So yesterday the hospital called, and Steve is probably going to get a permanent feeding tube. He has become more agitated and is sleeping most of the time. It appears he may not be able to go back to the rehab center. Hopefully there will be more information tomorrow.

Re: Steve Jelf 11/1
we are all praying for a good recovery for Steve. Just out of curiosity has anyone discussed with Steve what he wants for life sustaining measures vs what he doesn't want, or who can speak for him if it comes to the point where he cannot speak for himself? Sorry had to take off my Model T hat for a moment and put on my nurse hat.

Oh no. Not the news we want to hear.

Re: Steve Jelf 11/1
From a medical perspective this will provide better nutrition & hydration opportunities for Steve & staff plus less potential issues with aspiration seen with a temporary feeding tube. The decision to perform surgery was one that the physician’s & family discussed in great depth I assume. Once Steve is recovering they will make another decision for surgery to remove the tube or not to remove it until even more recovery milestones are met. Prayers are going up for a full recovery. Best John

My observations of feeding tubes is folks tend to remove them to quick, He had come along ways and then back down ,dang it,
If you can't help em, don't hinder em'

Re: Steve Jelf 11/1
Seems like He was doing great defying the odds till Covid got Him. Covid variant is making a come back this winter. New vaccines are available for it. Our prayers and good wishes for Steve to beat the odds and make a full recovery. He is a model T legend in His own time.
