Heads up
This may not be right place for this. But here it is.
I have been getting a few emails that say they are from our forum members saying that here are some pictures I need to take a look at.
The wording is the same in all of these. Of course I don’t open them just trash them.
My point is to warn all of you all that either this forum has been hacked or some of you all email has been hacked.
Also if you get email from me sending you pictures you DID NOT request, I DID NOT SEND IT.
I don’t send out pictures just for the fun.
If this is In wrong place just move it.
I figured more people would see it here. Dan

Re: Heads up
Dan, thanks for the warning! I have gotten those from my wife’s email with various “come-on” headings. “Do you remember these people?” “Were you there when these pictures were taken?” “What do you think of this design?” Things that she would never write as a heading so pretty obviously a scam but they might entice someone to open them and click on the “pictures” attached.

Re: Heads up
They are usually emails hacked from an email account, not from a forum or web site data base. Someone along the chain has had their emails hacked and all the contacts in that account is sent the photo emails. DO NOT OPEN THIS EMAIL. A hidden incription in the photo will hack your computer as well. If you report them as spam on your email account, they should be blocked in the future.
Thanks Dan, for letting us know.

Re: Heads up
The scammers never take a day off. I have not got any from people on this site, but my e-mail has that same type of scam everyday from what looks like people I know. The big tip off is the wording. The e-mail address is never the same as the person I know either.

Re: Heads up
Here is mine from today. Yes, I always check the email header address on potential scam emails and they are never correct.
Finally I'm ready to share them with you http://www.rqtfz.rslkeaes.com/#krl

Re: Heads up
For well over a year, I have been getting similar emails saying: photos from (John Doe, such and such). At least two of these names were/are members of the Houston Space City T's club, I have contacted them about the bogus emails but they keep on coming, just like the Energizer Bunny.

Re: Heads up
I've been getting these E-Mails starting about a year ago, and from my Local T Members.. Now I'm still getting these E-Mails from the members that have now passed.. So it's likely now some automated Bot somewhere using all these E-Mail Contact lists, spreading a Worm or something..
I'm curious as to what it's spreading?.. has anyone had any Information Hacked other than there E-Mails Contacts Lists?..
I just delete them..
While I was typing this, I just got another E-Mail from a Member that has Passed, sharing Photos.. These might be worth seeing!

Re: Heads up
The photo emails are intented to get you to open up the photo. Once open, there are imbedded computer codes that download to your computer. Can be cookies which capture your internet searches, it could be email contacts, it could be ransom ware that will lock up your cmputer until you provide a gift card or bit coin. The scams are endless, but it is in the picture and you will never know it has hacked your computer. So, never open the photo.
Another series of scams that might affect this forum group, I have been getting over the past few weeks. It is a fake UPS or Ded/Ex email that says either a package has been interrupted until you verify your address or a package is coming that will need your signature tomorrow and you need to verify you will be home. Check the email header for the signature line of the sender and it will never be UPS or Fed/Ex, it is usually a series of numbers and letters and usually a gmail account.
