Factory data about Model T

Post by Migo » Tue Nov 14, 2023 4:34 am

Hi!
On January it will be 100yrs since my T was produced.
Is there somewhere any data (like sales books or something) where it was sold for the first time? First owner name may be?

No, you will not find any sales or delivery documentation for January 1924. There were 9 million model T's sold by then, that's a lot of records to keep.

It is unfortunate that there is no way to track sales or ownership of Model T from the 1920s. In the 1970s the factory records were destroyed by a fire.

If you purchased the car from a previous owner, suggest a conversation to learn what you can and document it. At best you can locate year and day of manufacture. If purchased from a major auction house, maybe they can give some back ground.

One of the reasons a register of those Model Ts left may be a good idea.

The only way possible if any at all is if your T has the original engine in it. Even if it does it would have to have any if not all the paperwork that came with the car. After a 100 years the short answer is no.
