roadster body

What is a roadster body worth that has been rewooded upolsterd painted red that is a 1915 ?

Are you buying or selling? :lol:
I don't see any ads for one but a '26'27 is for sale for 1,995 on eBay.
A wood kit is $1400 Approx.
I would guess $4,000 to $5,000 might be a place to start.
Perhaps $3,000 would be more reasonable.
Just my opinion at the moment.
Others will have their own ideas.

I concur $3K-$3.5K. Add 400 for a turtledeck.

If the roadster body and the turtle deck is rewooded and it’s done pretty well I would say no more than $4000.00. .But that’s if it was really nice.

You need to remember that that body on an unrestored chassis would only pull 3500-4500 in this market. Red is not a great selling point either.

IF it had both front doors (Canadian version) it would probably be worth more as they are considerably rarer in my experience. I wanted one and ultimately I bought a US version and converted it!!

Also depends on condition of sheet metal. Rust out or big dents would cause it to be worth less. Also, has the metal been sealed behind the wood. It should have a good coat of acrylic primer on the inside at least.

It was primed and rewooded and upolsterd by Charles Shaver and the body and paint was done by a pro so no dents I can sea.

What is the difference between a 27 Canadian body and a 27 U.S. body? Both have doors on both sides. And both have steering wheels on left side unless manufactured for sale in a country which drives on the opposite side of the road.

You are correct, but the body in question is a 1915.

I hope I’m not going too far off topic. To answer Norman’s question, I have seen three differences in 26-7 Canadian bodies:

Firewall stamped with plant code. Example Montreal is abbreviated
Robertson screws
The body crossmember behind the front floorboards has two “tunnels” near the starter switch whereas US cars have only one on the left side

Keep in mind that many 1915's are not really the real thing either. Keep that in mind when looking at them. Do your research!
