In a group on Facebook about Old Copenhagen this picture showed up:
A lot of boxes has probably just been unloaded from a ship with that crane and the ship has left maybe for more boxes.
So what does that have to do with Ford Model T??
Well - look carefully on the box in the front:
You look on a pile of knocked down Ford Model T tourings fresh from Dearborn ready to be taken the last mile to the plant in northern Copenhagen, where a temporary assembly plant was made for 1919 - 1924. The year after a brand new purpuse build Albert Kahn designed assemple plant.
It is from 1923 and a pier in the Copenhagen Free Habour. A handy probebly steamdriven crane can be moved around on the rails in the pier.Where did Model T's came from???

Neat photo
Can read only contents of crates with "B", says "Motor Parts". "Chassis Starter"
The "A" crates seem to be larger, perhaps for body parts. Think these crates contain all the parts to assemble the chassis and body in the Ford assembly line process, which was duplicated around the USA plants and foreign too.

That is a wonderful picture. Details like this are all too often overlooked. How our cars got from the factory to the customer is a fascinating story of its own.
