Looking for a company in the US that can make replacement rims for Dayton wheels.

Post by Reno Speedster » Mon Jan 08, 2024 11:36 pm

I would like to get a couple of replacement rims for my 30 3 1/2 Dayton wire wheels. I found a place in the UK that can do it, but shipping is expensive and they would ideally like to have the rim on hand. Is there anyone in the US that can make these for me?

Contact Kevin Pharis in California - he might have rims in stock - they come from Australia or New Zealand - he built me a new set of Buffalo wires for our '19 Centerdoor - won't find any better workmanship !

What is the spoke count and layout? I may have some rims. Otherwise Kevin can take care of you.

I'll second the endorsement of Kevin's workmanship; he makes fine wheels.

Morgan has a set of 48 spoke Daytons, and assume these are 6 pin drive style. I would need a sample wheel to establish the correct dimple pattern and drilling angles.

Dan, if you have usable rims and are willing to part with them, it will likely be his best option

Long shot, but may be worth a phone call, Dayton is still making wire wheels and offers restoration services.

Regarding Dayton Wire Wheel Company, I had my Simplex wire wheels re-spoked, trued-up, and balanced there about 10 years ago. They did excellent work.
