Looking For Original Ford Specifications for Front Spindles

Post by festanley » Wed May 29, 2019 10:25 am

In the process of changing king pin bushings on a 25 T we have determined that the inner wheel bearing race is too loose. Someone has done a “factory” repair on the spindles with a punch and hammer. In the process of looking for replacement spindles we are trying to find out what the factory specifications are for the 17-25 Model T front spindles. More specifically what is the Ford call-out for diameter of the spindle where the inner race is installed? I tried the search function and didn't find what I was looking for.

Also does anyone have the Ford dimensions for the ID of the inner roller bearing? I know what the call-out and diameter for the Timken 14120 bearing sold by the suppliers is but it would useful to know what Ford specified in the factory literature.

Thanks,

Alan

The diameter according to Ford is 1.189"-1.190". If someone tried a "strawberry fit" as you describe I think I'd be looking for a replacement. Not hard at all to find.
