1915 Model T Roadster Side Curtains

I decided to add side curtains to my 1915 Model T Runabout. After contacting Mike at Classtique and getting the process started by obtaining his patterns, I realized that there are no fasteners for the side curtains on the car side. Whoever replaced the top did a custom top without adding the side curtain fasteners. In addition, whoever restored the car before I got it did not install any side curtain fasteners on the car. All said, I have some pictures of the fasteners that should be on the top, but no clue how the side curtains attach to the windshield or other places on the car body. Anyone have pictures of their side curtain installation for 1915 runabout? Pic to my car top attached.

David, the lack of any fittings on the car may be a blessing in disguise. If your side curtains come with fittings you will be able to fit the body fittings to suit the curtain fittings. That should give you a better fit for the curtains.

When I ordered my curtains, I asked that the fittings be supplied but not fitted to the curtains. That allowed me to custom fit them in the right place, but with adjustments made to take the wrinkles out and keep the curtains taut.

I installed side curtains on my 1915.

If you enlarge the above photo you will see some of the fasteners on the bottom edge of the seat upholstery, where it wraps to the outside of the car.
The curtains attach to the windshield by a strap around the side light, and a second strap that goes around the connection of the top strap to the windshield hinge. I installed a third fastener between the top edge of the side curtain and the storm flap. See following photos

Here is fastener on my storm flap. The male partner of this fastener is on the top outside corner (where it meets the windshield) of the front side curtain.

Here are some photos of a 1919 touring that might be helpful. Note this car has the other type of storm flap . This flap has a snap. The side curtain has the corresponding male half of the snap. The interior photos were taken looking through the driver's side curtain,

Yes, that diagram is very helpful, thank you. I am still working to understand how the connecton is made to the windshield to hold the side curtain. I have seen some put a fastener on the side of the windshield, some on the front so the side curtain wraps around. I've really got one shot at getting this pattern right, so I am looking for any close up pics of an actual installation.
