Post by vping » Sat Jan 27, 2024 1:19 pm

This is fun. Every time I take a part off to de-rust, clean and re paint, I find a logo. I'm sure y'all know we're they are and this is a great treasure hunt for me.

Almost all of Ford parts have a Ford logo. Some have logos that are so small you can barely see them.

Ford warned customers and dealers to avoid using or selling "gyp parts".

Interesting topic. I have a WWII Ford GPW jeep and every polt head has a script F on it, as do many, if not all of the parts. The representation on the military vehicle side of the hobby is that Ford was building the 280,000 jeeps they assembled during WWII under license for Willys and HF did not want to warranty Willys parts. And, he wanted the average GI to know they were riding in a Ford. The military, after the first 15,000 jeep order, did not allow Ford or Willys to put their block or large script logo on the rear panel.
I have often wondered and asked if Ford used F marked parts prior to the WWII jeep and other the the script logo on hubcaps or other large visable parts, they did not. So, intersting to learn that Ford marking parts was not a new concept during the war.

I have a rather large stash of F marked bolts and use them occasionaly on Model T's like fender to running boards or cowl light brackets . They are hex bolts, not carriage bolts, so their use is limited.
Why do we drive on parkways and park on driveways?

A bunch of old cars
Sometimes they run.
Sometimes, they don't.
