What distinguishes a 1913/14 Corcoran carbide generator from the others. Otherwise, how do I know if I am looking a Corcoran generator or some other brand of generator? Pictures would be helpful.
Thank you
Craig

The subject line should say "1913/14 Corcoran generator" not "genator"

Craig,
1. The Corcoran B&B acetylene generators may be distinguished by the tank vertical seam
next to the gas output tube (on the lower tank pictured below and a little hard to see).
Also, it has the one-piece basket inside.
The instruction sheet was found inside the generator.
2, The one Dan posted above with the seam around the middle of the lower tank is either a
John Brown or an E&J. I don't know that we ever discovered how to tell the difference
between those two B&B generators regarding who made them.
3. The Victor has the "hook" type water control on top and may be the only one stamped
with the manufacture's name in the later version. No exposed seam on lower tank.
Thomas Corcoran, and brothers, owned both Victor and Corcoran during
'13/'14 and bought John Brown soon after.
