brake lever gets stuck when put forward

when i Put the brake lever all the way forward it gets stuck and will not come back until I move the lever on the trans up were it rides on the cam by the trans what do I need to adjust to fix this thanks mike

Get out your service manual. Check your low pedal link & cam contact bolt.

Post a picture of the cam and how the adjustment bolt interferes with its movement.

Could be that your cam is worn so bad that the adjuster bolt can't slide over it.
Could also be that the adjuster bolt is way too far extended, such that it snags on the cam.
Might help if your adjuster bolt was turned upside down, so the bolt head rides on the cam instead of the bolt end.
Or ???
