I am pleased to report that Lee Chase, age 94 and MTFCA Member #29, was holding court at the Model T Ford Club of Southern California Luncheon last Saturday afternoon. Still alive and kicking.

He's looking good and the expression looks like he is very cognizant as well. Last time I saw him was on a tour, I think it might have been California Dreamin'. He had rolled his wheelchair off a step and had to go home early. Good to see you Lee. I wonder if he remembers when he suggested a trip to "Dante's View" in Death Valley? I went up in a 26 Roadster and used Ruckstell low Ford low both up and down. I don't think the earlier cars could have made it because of the lower location of the gas tank.

Great to see Lee Chase still in action ! Hes the FOUNDER of The Model A Touring Club---Now sanctioned by MAFCA---We did 3 or 4 Tours in Western Europe and Scandinavia and a T tour in France. Lee always an adept leader with good advice whatever the problem. His wife Suzanne arranged travel, a Dutch girl named Carla managed many tours and Rene Werner arranged shipping. Always a pleasure traveling with Lee---MATC still going strong!! Hope to see him again soon!! Paul

This event was the final gathering of the Model T Club of Southern California, of which I have been a member for over 60+ years. It's sad, but it happened. I have found a new bunch of friends in the Horseless Carriage Club of Southern California.

Aren't there several other MTFCA chapters in the area? Used to be a Long Beach Club. The one which has the annual Swap meet at the stadium. Which club was Walt Rosenthal a member of? He used to live in Glendale.

This is a thread about MTFCA Member #29 Lee Chase still being out there participating in the hobby. He's a real trooper and remembers it all.

I am only number 829 and only 91 years old. I hope to be as good as he is if I make it to 95.
