What does the S&R mean after the Ford script?

Most likely the makers mark, one with which I am not familiar.

Mfg. Is believed to be Sanson and Rowland, Phila.

Bit more info c/o Google Books, from 1919 issue The Iron Age magazine, shows a partnership was dissolved, but the company remained with Mr Rowland. And this company had a branch in Detroit. 1919 was around the time Ford was making lots of Ts and needed lots of tool kits, so several mfg. suppliers of tools were needed.
In another search found a list of Mfg. Reps, that was common for company to use reps, and a named rep was listed for Sanson and Rowland, in 1909, who had Detroit address and handled other lines, like Gray and Davis.
That would infer that Sanson and Rowland did product business in Detroit and is likely the S & R on that Ford pliers.
