If that’s not a staged photo it goes to show drivers in those days drivers did what they had to do to keep from getting run off the road by another driver just as today. He surely wasn’t going more than 35-40 MPH. If that’s what actually happened!
At today’s speeds the car would have flipped and the driver most likely gotren hurt pretty bad.

Appears to be a TT wrecker, note the tower frame standing up, and the T in the background has headlamps raised in the air.
So the driver was towing that T, and likely the T wandered and wagged the tail of the tow truck, sending it into the concrete abutment
