What fittings make up this shut-off to the carburetor?

Brass fitting names and sizes appreciated in the picture for the gas line to the carburetor. To me it looks to have a shut-off valve on the line and a quick disconnect at the carburetor. A few of us have talked us over and need help. Thanks in advance !

That looks like one of Scott Conger's shut off valves that he recently offered in the classifieds. There is no quick disconnect in the plumbing. jb

I used the shut off valve from Snyder's and a fitting from the local hardware store. Works great!

Snyder's shut-off valve as pictured above is the type that needs to be lifted ever so slightly whilst turning then slight downward pressure to seat again to prevent a drip. There should be no need for any fitting on the gas line end as it's a standard Ford part ?????

Steve, thanks for the tip on lifting and pressing. The 1/4" fitting was too small for the Snyder valve so I needed the adapter. I was surprised because that fitting did look original and fit the 90 degree elbow that also looked original. I believe my truck was restored (maybe even built) by someone around 1982 and its obvious that a new tank, separator and I suspect fuel line where installed at that time so its likely that some things changed.

You are most welcome ! Did the p.o. use a compression fitting/ferrule ? Stock line is 1/4" that uses the original pack nut - I use the neoprene gasket rather than the felt now - don't have to compress the neoprene much for a good seal.

The threads on the valve are incorrect. You have to buy their matching incorrect fuel line nut.

That's news to me John - both original & repro nuts are the same thread that I've run across albeit the repro nuts are a bit tight on a 1/4" line.

I went thru this the first time I bought the period looking 90 degree shut off valve. An original line nut wouldn't thread on. Too tight.
Had to buy their repop nut. If you fit a repop nut onto an original elbow fitting, you will notice it is real loose. To the point I dont trust the threads not to slip/strip when tightening.
The Ford thread is 1/2-18. Original, NOS fittings measure .495" The new valve I have does measure .500, but the threads are not cut deep enough. I suspect the mfg is using a 1/4" straight pipe die.

A ferrule fitting creates a shear line. Compression rings are not a good fix. I have seen copper lines break off @ the ring edge. If using a steel line you may not shear the line, but I dont take the chance.
