Ruckstell axle end play.
Setting the axle side play on a Ruckstell per the MTFCA manual. One bronze washer is not thick enough, a bronze washer and fiber washer is too thick. I have been sanding both washers, but that is a tedious task. Are washers available of different thickness? The manual says to sand two fiber washers. Any problem with using a bronze and fiber washer together?

If you are referring to the fiber washer inside the planetary assembly, there should only be enough space for a single fiber washer. As a sanity check, substitute a steel thrust washer and see how much side play you have. Something is wrong if you have excessive side play with a single steel washer installed. You should have about .010 side play if everything is as it should be. Post some pictures of your setup and we can go from there.
