Model T Ford in contrast

Post by John kuehn » Fri May 24, 2024 3:59 pm

Hers a neat photo of a Model T sitting next to a high end rich man’s car in the late 20’s beings stopped in the street by a traffic cop. He’s trying to make it safe for the mother cat.
I’m thinking that’s a low cowl T in the picture but not sure of the big shiny high class car.
There is a big difference in the 2 cars prices even it that era!

It’s a great picture and always fun to see ! If I recall correctly, the date is 1920, so it’s definitely a low-cowl T !

I had read this years ago. According to a New York magazine, this was one of the top news stories of 1925. It was a reenactment of the actual event, but became a famous photo nonetheless.
A much larger image and a short story can be found here;

The maddening thing about “winternet” information is the inaccuracies that creep in with each telling ! Thanks for giving us the source, Wayne !
