27 Questions

Post by Brent Mize » Tue Jul 16, 2024 7:43 am

Hi,
I have two questions in regards to my 27’s
One relates to bumpers, the second relates to the top boot.
The bumper question pertains s to the medallion in the center of the Ford bumpers.
Some of the literature show that the background of the medallion was painted.
I was once told by someone I respect that the Model T medallion had a frosted background and it was only painted when the same medallion was used for the early AR Model A’s.
Both are shown in the second photo.
The top boot question is regarding the straps. Are they black or beige. On this photo they appear to be black but this could also be a later version. The car being a Sport Touring it should have a tan top boot. Some of the photos I’ve seen show a black tie down strap that goes over the seat. How does that attach under the seat cushion?
If you have a photo of an original, that would be much appreciated.
Thank you to all for your input.

The tie down strap attaches to a Murphy fastener below the back rest
If my memory is correct.

I can't say with authority, but I have never seen a center bumper clamp that didn't have a black painted background or a polished nickle background, either original or reproduction.
