The Ford F Caburetor

Post by J1MGOLDEN » Fri Sep 27, 2024 5:32 pm

The 1926 Roadster I bought over 20 years ago came with a Ford F carburetor.

I was told at that time that it was the best Ford carburetor.

What made it the best is still a mystery.

I have never seen it mentioned in any carburetor tests or articles.

Is anyone using one now or have more information?

Same carburetor as the Holley NH that was contracted by Ford to supply the demand.

From the Gail Rodda book, Vol 1 page 20.-"In 1922 the Ford F was introduced and was used until about December. It was made by Ford under Holley patent. Part # was also 6200 B."

I scored a very sound looking unit a few weeks ago for $10. Havent tried it yet but they have a good reputation, probably due to the model not so much they were made in the UK and tagged different.

The only difference between a Ford F and a Holley NH is the name tag.
The inevitable often happens.

The 1922 Ford NH also had the "Ford" script in the body casting.
