What have you done with your T in December 2024

Staged the T in town yesterday for a Grand Opening of a men's clothing store. The owner flagged me down back in October as I was driving Scarlotte through town since the T fits his chosen style of the Dapper or Natty '20-'30's.

I have suggested it and will keep trying to convince him to do so.
I dislike the heat so there is very little chance of seeing me in a summer suit let alone pants above 74°f.
Seems to be a modern custom tailored setup with vintage styling.

Cleaned up the rear lamp on my 1912. It was really kind of nasty, lots of "brown spots" rather than a nice overall patina. I am learning the joys of having a brass Model T!

Well, that's no surprise to me... Years ago my wife and I were in San Francisco, got on a trolley with a group of nuns... Turns out they were from the town next to my hometown in New Jersey... ....You can't go too far without meeting somebody from home.

Took the 22 Roadster to the local museum. The Womans club was having a tour. This is a historical museum. I put a few decorations on it and spent about 5 hours there today. The whole place was decorated and although we didn't have any rain, it did get a bit windy from time to time. I don't have one of those new fangled phones which take pictures, so I can't show you how it looked. I didn't count, but think there were close to 100 visitors during that period. I was hoping for one or two other T's but they didn't show.

Took out the rear end and partially diassembled. Past week has been about 10 degrees in a non insulated garage.
I know what I want for Christmas

My new temporary garage came with a supervisor too!

I keep an eye on kitty, so she doesn't get into anything bad.

Participated in Saturday’s Melrose FL Christmas Parade. Finished the ‘12 open express which is my interpretation of Harry Jackson’s T, who was a turn of last century resident that made significant contribution to the early town, his delivery carried steamer trunks from the shore of local lakes and waterway from visitors who arrived by steamboats from distant railway in Waldo FL.

Photo is Harry Jackson driving his T transfer express. And my replica in the parade. Afterwards displayed in town park and met grandson of Harry Jackson, great time.

I had two days of driving around the city reminding people to stock up on their Haigh's Chocolate's for Christmas. Life is cruel at times but this is not one of them.

I worked on my starter and sleeved the shaft back to 500". I had a modern steering shaft laying around so I cut it and used a boring bar to get the I.D. correct before turning down the O.D. So I guess this means the sleeve itself is genuine Ford.

Yes I plan to clean up the commutator before installing the bearing and spacer.

This is a personal achievement since I got my new hip three weeks ago, the day after Thanksgiving. If you saw a guy hobbling around on a cane at the the Old Car Festival, it was probably me. My wife who is also my nurse gave me permission to play at the shop today.

@ some point your commuter had the mica insulators cut down. This is not done on starter armatures, only generators.(see the service manual) You can see the powdered copper brush powder shorting the segments. This makes for a weak starter. You will need to cut quite a bit of commuter to correctly fix.

Thomas, i have two hips done. The later one is far better, because this time i put in the effort with the physio. Do the work he suggests to get the full range of movement possible, and you will not be restricted in what you can do.

I was delighted to be sent home the same day as my surgery. My missus ran inside the house to fetch my walker and I met her halfway up the driveway balancing on a cane. My neighbor, Caveman, convinced me to be as mobile as possible. He demonstrated by walking his dog and carrying his cane horizontally 2 days after his surgery.

Got the color on the panels followed by 3 coats of clear. I have few little nibs that will need sanded out but overall pretty happy.

Took it out for a little ride today 50 degrees and sunny perfect T weather.

Fitted a new set of Blockley's to the front of the TT. First time I've done that on my own, but I must agree with others that the Blockley's do go on easy after being left in the sun for a while.

I can't stop driving my recently registered 14 touring car. Everyday I am motoring around my little country town with a smile from ear to ear. Yesterday I took my elderly father for his first ever drive in a T, he has been a mechanic since he was 18 and even owned a T once but had never driven in one. He was most impressed with the smoothness of the ride and the abundance of torque.
