Snowmobile ski question

I am building skis for a snowmobile build and I am wondering do the original skis have a skeg down the middle of the bottom? And can I get width and lengh measurements. Thanks, Dennis

Yes they do. I have a set and they are about 3/4 wide.

I finally got my skis finished. They are made out of things out of my raw materials pile (formerly known as a scrap pile) I used wheels that were no good for tires, some broken Model A springs, old bed frames, chain links off a potato digger and what was part of the kitchen remodel at the Elk's Lodge 25 years ago. The skeg on the under side I made 14 inches long and now all I need is snow to test them out. As you can see from the pictures it is not a traditional T snowmobile, my nephew had these tracks for his side by side and doesn't like them so a friend and I put 2 tracks a piece on our T's. We will see how well they work. The only time in my life that I have ever wanted it to snow.

Dennis that turned out really nice. Take some shots out in the snow. Model T’s are light but I wonder about boyancy on top of the snow. This is the 30’s version by ARPS.

Nowadays, some snowmobile skis have a tungsten carbide rib going down the middle. Expensive, but they don't wear down like regular steel, even the hardened kind.

This is how my Supersnowbird started out. The cab metal is pitted more on the inside than outside. The Model A frame was cut, bent and welded to make it straight for some reason and it came with the 25 T pickup box. The frame cross members are now oak and fiberglassed. That is the reason it has the 25T box.

Joe, You did a really nice job on your Supersnowbird. With it having no rear fenders I thing that the 25 bed looks better than a Model A bed would, looks like a fun vehicle. Do you have to get in and out of the window with that track setup? I am just waiting for snow, all of my snow is coming pre melted.

The doors are cut and remanufactured to open over the tracks. Still not too easy to get in.
