Reclining Seats?

Post by GarJen127 » Tue Mar 18, 2025 11:07 am

Do all touring have adjustable seat? I’ve seen some camping photos of touring being used as beds.

It was an aftermarket conversion kit that allows the front seats to recline. Not factory equipment.

Front seat back cut down the sides & bottom, I believe some additional framing added and tacked in, hinges added to the bottom, brackets up top, the upholstery cut down the sides and retacked either side...

To recline, the outer screw on each bracket removed to unlock the seat back and recline the back, where the seat bracket is then rescrewed into a receiver that's added to both the rear seat door frames along the riser to lock it in place level.
The bed...if you want to call it that, is only 5 feet long from the rear seat back to front riser. Sleep upright, or spoon with your partner.
Daisy Mae had this modification done for its cross country trip MI to Colorado Springs for the race in '16

Those photos are very interesting to me. I’ve heard of that accessory for quite some time but have never viewed it. Thank you for sharing the photos Kurt…
