Is this a Model T? If not, what is it?
This car belonged to the grandfather of a friend of mine and he would like to know if it is a Model T. I don’t know enough to answer that question but I figured you guys would.
He would also like to know what all of the levers are on the side of the car above the running board.
Thanks for your help!

Re: Is this a Model T?
Doug's first car was not a Model T. The levers were a gear shift and a parking brake. The lever he has his hand on is the gear shift.

And the straight rod in front of that is a windshield brace, and the curly rod or pipe in front of that is from a gas generator to the carriage lamp?
It’s hard to tell from the photo but it sure looks like the gearbox is sitting on the running board.

The "curly rod" is the tubing for the bulb horn. The bulb itself being just below Doug's wrist. What you might think of as the gearbox is the carbide generator, which makes acetylene gas for the headlamps. The actual gearbox would not be seen.
It's an odd make of car for sure.

I would suggest copying that last image and ask on the "What is it" section over on the AACA site. To me it does not look American.

It almost looks like an '09/'10 American Underslung, but with a homemade body tail.

It's not a Model T, but it looks a bit like the 1909 Humber 8HP which was used in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, although the Humber used in the movie did not have a windscreen.
