closed cab stamped steel door key question

Post by WillyR » Wed Apr 23, 2025 9:19 am

I have just a single stamped steel door key for my 24 coupe.

Are these keys numbered and available like ignition keys?

Are there blanks available?

how would I go about getting a couple more copies?

CF736 is the number on my key..

As an aside, I would also like another trunk key, are all of these the same?

I will pick up a third ignition key off the ebays to have 3 complete sets.

A vendor or two has a new tumbler with two more modern keys that could possibly be easier to replicate for under $20 would it be worth it to switch the tumbler?

I did find out from a trusted vendor, the available tumbler/2 key set will only work with "half turn" locks.

mine does lock with half a turn, so I may be good there....

I guess the other type is "quarter turn"

they also have an extra ignition key for much less than the ebays, but the extra trunk key price makes up for that.......

I was waiting on an back ordered item from Lang's and it came in today, so I added the tumbler and keys along with some other items.

I will see if any local locksmiths can provide copies of my original, and if have a leftover tumbler and keys, I may just have to buy a tudor to go with it..
