ISO early dealership photos that have a visible garage door

Hello,

This is Steven Cross with Zink Motor Company Ford in Appleton City MO. I am wanting to see if anyone has photos of a T era dealership that includes closed garage door/s? We are a 112 year old Ford dealership operating in a 107 year old Ford designed building. I am compiling a project list for a local historic preservation grant application. Replacing our front facing garage door with a door that as at minimum complimentary visually to what might have originally been there is on my list of projects. Curious to see if anyone has a photo that shows an example of what dealership doors looked like during the T era.

Good to read your post Steven, I have heard of your dealership before because of your use of the old building. Beautiful work and good luck on the grant and renovations!

I own this building which was built as a Ford Agency in 1917, it originally had an arched service entry doorway. Like you I would like to recreate it, but I only have this one photo of the original door.

This was my Great Grandmother's gas station/service garage and Hupmobile dealership in Burbank CA.

While the large bay is open, the doors were similar design to the two smaller bays to the side, all of which operated like folding doors, hinged together and folded to the sides...

Edit, I just asked my aunt, she said the large bay, while looking the same as the smaller doors, were the "bi-fold" accordian style, while the two smaller ones had single doors to one side, with the larger sections as barn door rollers rolled overlapping to the center.

The Model A Ford Museum is located on the Gilmore Museum Campus in Hickory Corners, Mi. The museum is located in an authentic looking reproduction Ford Dealership building. I think they have the style doors that you are looking for. I found this phone number online. I am not sure if this number is for the Model A museum itself, or for the overall Gilmore Campus: 269 671 5089.
