Model T Commemorative Coin- Just for Fun!
I very much enjoy giving friends and extended family rides in my 1915 Touring car. Most of them have only seen a car this old in a museum or in a parade, so being able to experience a ride firsthand is something special. I always receive enthusiastic and appreciative comments.
18 months ago, I got my grandkids a 3D printer. About a year ago, I guess they got tired of me coming over and using it all the time, so my kids and grandkids got me my own printer for my birthday, and I have enjoyed learning how to use it. I mostly make toys for my grandkids and a few useful items for myself. Recently, I had a thought that maybe I could 3D print a coin to give to my Model T passengers after their rides; something of a souvenir they could take home to commemorate their ride in a 110-year-old car. After a few iterations, I ended up with something suitable and printed up a batch. The response has been tremendous, and past riders have been asking for theirs! It has been so much fun to present them with their own coin, and I also give them a small display stand I printed.
Sometimes it is the small things that are memorable, and people come away with a new appreciation for old car technology and a fun story of receiving their commemorative coin!

You did a wonderful job with that coin....very professional looking.
Maybe I should say better than professional. Our sheriff's department made a commemorative coin to honor our volunteer units.....if you notice, the AERO unit was misspelled AREO. A nice ($$) idea that fell flat. Doesn't anyone ever proofread anymore? I should point out these were metal coins - I don't know if part of the process involved 3-D printing or if they were stamped.

Tim, perhaps the proof reader was thinking of his morning break, and miss spelled OREO!

Allan,
Your misspelled is misspelt.

Not to change the subject too much but I am appalled at the number of online news articles posted by reputable organizations the read like they were written by a 5th grader.

It is not painted, just printed with silver color PLA plastic. The front and back are
Printed separately, then glued together.
