Enclosed Car Window Crank Handles

Post by ModelTWoods » Fri Jul 11, 2025 11:52 am

Due to the unavailable reproductions of 26-27 enclosed car window crank handles, I, like everyone else, has had to resort to using the reproduction Model A handle that tightens with a set screw on the regulator shaft. I have seen window crank handle that reportedly are original Model T, but the handle has a big hole in the outside and is held to the regulator shaft (which must be threaded) by a special nut, Can anyone educate me on what is correct? My regulators are originals and they are not threaded.

My wife's '25 Coupe utilized the window crank handle that was retained by a rather large headed screw - I believe those were used on closed cars with crank-up windows until 1925.

The past is a great place and I don't want to erase it or to regret it, but I don't want to be its prisoner either.

Thanks Frank for posting the links. The last one was to my own old post in 2011. I had forgotten about that post. It's Hell to get old.
