26/27 enclosed car gas tank
Im helping a friend remove a gas tank form a 27 enclosed car, What steps do I need to do to remove it?
As Tom Sellick told Marston in the movie Quigley Down Under, I told you I dont have much use for handguns, I never said I didn't know how to use them!

Re: 26/27 enclosed car gas tank
I think that the procedure varies with body style. I have heard from several '26-7 Model T' owners that you can carefully wiggle the tank out of the car without removing the steering column. On my '27 Touring car the column has to come out. Before anyone hops on to this, if my tank ever has to be removed again, I'll pay $50 to anyone who can remove it (I'll unbolt and unscrew whatever needs to be) without removing or at least lowering the column before you to remove the tank.

This older post has some real good tips. Two person job as the cowl sediment bulb fitting to the tank has to wrangle in and back out when replacing. One can do it, but helpers are nice to have.
Done it solo many times in open cars, the dash sometimes needs a pull just below the switch opening as the flange on the dash panel can interfere.

Service Bulletin gives step by step on removing and installing.
Safety first, drain tank, remove battery cable so no elec. is there, and remove dash switch as the thick loom is a handicap.
