26-27 Proof of Concept

Post by TMiller6 » Fri Jan 30, 2026 5:06 pm

I need twelve of the 1926-27 rear curtain fasteners for the open car top irons. The current offerings (RH) fit if you don’t try to sandwich the side curtains in between.

The Model A Roadster has snaps (LH) that fasten to the windshield with smaller holes. The Model A open cars also use the same side curtain fasteners on the body as do our Model Ts.

Today I created this crude hybrid fastener (center) that will work on the Model T top irons. It sure would be nice if the supplier who makes these fasteners could do the crimping on their machine instead of me trying to make do by disassembling each one. I sense an opportunity for a new reproduction part. As I noted, I will purchase the first twelve.
