'13 Speedster rounded sheet metal cowl ??

Post by frontyboy » Wed Feb 04, 2026 12:01 pm

Have a new Rootlieb speedster kit with flat dashboard. I want to add a rounded sheet metal cowl. Looking for sheet metal cowl, or plans or patterns. I would buy a metal cowl, or a set of plans or drawings.

If you have made one I would like to know how you did it or who did it, any information would be helpful. Best to contact me here.

thnx,

frontyboy.

Here are some old threads with pictures of making a single seat metal cowl. Enough to modify for a two seater

The past is a great place and I don't want to erase it or to regret it, but I don't want to be its prisoner either.

With the firewall and rear mounting frame in place, use stiff cardboard to make a pattern that fits the two components. That will give you the shape you need to cut in the steel sheet. Custom made for a custom fitment. No need to follow a "plan".
