Any rear axle guys out here?

Post by Darren J » Mon Mar 23, 2026 6:29 pm

So I'm going through the driveshaft and rear axle on my 26 Coupe. My plan was to switch the inner and outer axle sleeves since neither Snyders nor Langs have any. Mine are in great shape except for the right outer. It's definitely good enough to use as the right inner. When I pulled the sleeves I found that I don't have 2 rights and 2 lefts I have 3 lefts and 1 right! Dang it.

Any chance I can use a left as the right outer? The hole for the grease cup is pretty much at the break in the sleeve but the rotation is against the direction of the V instead of with it.

I doubt I can do that so the question is does anyone have a single right axle sleeve I can buy? Steve told me he doesn't plan to make any new ones for at least 2 weeks and by the time I have it shipped to WI I'm back at least 3 weeks or more.

Thanks, Darren

Check with Mark Chaffin. He may have some inventory.

Personally I don't care about the orientation of the inner sleeves. I understand the potential issue re the position of the split in the sleeve vs. the rotation of the axle but it doesn't seem to matter in my experience. The outers should match up with the grease holes.. Man I'm getting tired of this spell check, it keeps changing my words to common words!

From another post, the sleeves sounds like they might be back in stock in a short time. In the meantime, put the good sleeves on the inside and wrong/bad ones on the outside. When they come back into stock, pull the wheels and replace the sleeves.
Also REMEMBER! There are other suppliers out there that need OUR SUPPORT TOO! Check around.
I know the voices aren't real but damn they have some good ideas!
