O-2-O 2019 Reliability
For the 29 participants in the O-2-O + 10 run, they completed an aggregate of about 120,000 miles. Failures were minimal when compared to 10 years ago, but were most catastrophic with non-original add-on equipment. These included an electric in-line overdrive unit, a Watts clutch, and 2 or 3 alternators with gear fitment problems. There were at least 2 fan blades which broke off the hub, nearly ruining the radiator, distributor point and condenser problems, 3 wooden spoked wheels which developed unsafe looseness (one was mine, due to the horrible pot holes in the Dearborn area), loose wiring due to crimps which were not soldered, and the usual timer, coil, and plug maintenance, and a fistful of flat tires, one of which was mine on the replacement wheel. We had 1 dropout and another car which decided not to do a repair to complete the run for the last 500 or so miles. These cars were much better prepared and more reliable than the 55 of 10 years age and about half were repeat drivers. Overall, this was another “Trip of a Lifetime” and all came away with many great memories and newfound lifetime friends.

Re: O-2-O 2019 Reliability
Welcome to Michigan, home of bad roads.
That the worst problems were with aftermarket add-ons is not a surprise. Many "upgrades" intended to make a T "more reliable" aren't and don't.

The inevitable often happens.

Well said Steve J! And thank you Will R for the report! I still hope to do one of these runs one day myself. I would probably be one of the unprepared cars, but I would enjoy it just the same.
