Some call it the "low speed clutch". Some call it the "high speed clutch". The bible just calls it the clutch, with no reference to speed. :)

The Ford Instruction Book (owners manual) 1926, Page 8 'Operating the Ford'

...The first pedal toward the left operates the clutch.....pressed forward the clutch pedal engages the low speed...and the releasing of this pedal engages the high-speed clutch. :D

Although this expression was first coined by science fiction writer Arthur C. Clarke and is called Clarke's First Law, it also fits for the Model T transmission: "Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic."

101 years after its introduction, the Model T transmission and how it works is still magic to me!

There is no thing high speed on a Model T. There is only slow and slower.
NH - Where I used to live - not the carburetor ! :lol:
