I got my first Model T maybe 20 years ago. I like to fix cars. In the past I did a lot of classic VW Beetles and 50's cars. I became fascinated by the simplicity and engineering genius of the Model T. I was hooked. Thanks to this forum First I learned of the " Black Book" a wonderful teaching tool. I was so ignorant I thought the engine was frozen because the lever was full foreward!!! Over the years so many of you taught me how to repair different aspects of the car. I just finished working on my 43rd Model T. A young man bought the first car his Grandfather had. No electrical starter ( hand crank only) . No electrical. No compression nothing. It took 3 months of work. New electrical, rebuilt coils, recharged magnetos, new wiring, new stainless valves set to 0.10 New rings set to absolute minimum gap hand filed. Cut valve corroded block seats 30 45 70 Milled head 0.40 Boy does it run great now Young man picked it up yesterday to give his grandfather a present !!!! :D So again thanks to all. Working on these cars is fun and keeps me busy and out of trouble
