24 coupe moulding
I have a fairly recently acquired 24 coupe that I am starting to work on. On the car I bought, the moulding covering where the panels meet appears to be aluminum. I recently picked up the rear of a coupe body that I am disassembling for parts and some of the trim appears to be lead. This trim is on the sides of the rear panel below the trunk lid. The panel is a replacement, so it may be that the moulding is replacement. What have others found used on cars they have seen?

Go the classifieds on this website. Scroll down and you will see a 24 Coupe body for sale. It’s surprisingly complete and there is a good shot of the rear panel and molding your talking about.
I have a 24 Coupe that I inherited and restored. On my car the 2 moulding pieces weren’t exactly like the rest of the aluminum moulding.
There are 2 strips that are tacked on to cover the area where the sheet metal side panels and the rear panel meets. After installing the clip on pieces they match the rest of the moulding style.
The strips are 2 semi oval pieces that clip on over the 2 strips.
There might be some variations in the bodies because of different body builders in that era but I’m not for sure.

If I understand you the moldings you refer to are these highlighted in red.

I don't have the answer but am surprised the listing is only for 1924.Rich
When did I do that?

Restoration supply company carries the aluminum strips and you can cut to length, the carry different widths so measure before ordering.
