Ford Piquette Plant, 1905

Post by Rob » Mon Feb 17, 2025 12:35 pm

Colorized photo of the Ford Piquette plant, probably in 1905. The grounds are still quite undeveloped with the 1/4 mile test track still in use.

On the right three men are testing a Model B (front engine crank is visible), with several cars near the center of the plant, apparently with bodies.

The reverse side view of Piquette from a 1905 sales catalog. The track is seen with testing cars on the far right:

Thank you! A VERY interesting post! I never knew a test track existed a the plant side on Piquette!

I know the powerhouse is long gone. Does anyone know what kind of engine and generator they had installed in it? Was it an Edison DC installation?
