26 Touring

Post by EricMac » Thu Dec 29, 2022 11:22 pm

I am reluctantly offering for sale my 1926 Touring. This is a car that deserves a deep look as cosmetics can be deceiving. While much of the original paint has been preserved, all of the mechanical aspects are up to date. The engine was rebuilt and is very strong running. The transmission, driveshaft, front and rear axles are rebuilt. The car has a set of five newer tires on interesting 30×3 1/2 demountable rim wheels. The radiator is a newer Bergs and the coils (by the Coil Doctor) and timer are new this year. It has proven to be a comfortable and reliable driver capable of long tours.
Used at one time as a North Dakota police car it still has original markings evident on the car. Shown at the 2022 Old Car Festival at Greenfield Village, the car was a hit on the show field and car games alike. A careful eye will notice a daily driver license plate on the back. This was a car I was able to use as regular transportation any time the mood struck me. By the time you could get here I plan to have a new top in place as well.
So why sell such a good car after only owning it for a year? As a matter of explanation, my first car in high school was a 1947 Nash. I recently found and bought a much better twin to my high school ride and I'm out of room. At the same time, I am knee deep in the restoration of my dad's 1926 Fordor. In other words, a choice had to be made and the Touring is the odd man out.
I think I have about $8500 in the car now but I'm asking $6750 with the top installed or $6250 with the top in a box.
If you are looking for a T in turn key condition that you can drive right now, this is your car.
