Hello I have a 1914 Touring in the process of being restored, I am rebuilding the engine now with a starter, I do have pictures available, car has new fenders, hood and correct lights but still needs upholstery , car is painted black. I have the top bows but need to be cleaned and painted. Jim 970-three7three 88six4

I did, it's a ways off, and I planned a trip to go out to see it last weekend because I had a rare 3 day weekend. I was waiting for more photos and was sent 3 of a model t from 2010 via picture of a computer screen and one of them was the wrong car. He then told me he can't get to the car until after tennis season although I have no idea when that is.

That is a fantastic '14, despite that it appears to have a water pump!
Bit "up there" at $25K but I bet he'll negotiate. I do hope tho this is an indication that the earlier cars are "holding up" their values!
Especially since HCCA has an '11 Touring for only $39K!

I know, it's just so original I don't think I can be the one to start changing it. I have talked to him on the phone and even lost sleep over this car. I want it so bad. But I feel it's so rare at this point and can only be original once I don't think it's the car for me.

I hope you can. Garsh it can't be THAT far can it? Unless maybe ur way up in the UP? Do you have a trailer? I've traveled overnight to fetch most of my T's LOL...I'm not trying to impress, preach, or otherwise, just hope you can figure it out. I think you'd be a great owner for it.

your opinion of BobP's car is a very sound and mature view. That car is indeed best kept as an original car akin to the "Rip VanWinkle" car, rather than restored for touring or beaten to death as-is for touring and enjoying.

I wish Bob all the luck in the world selling it and hope for history's sake it goes to the right owner.

As a business owner it is hard to get away. I do have a trailer but it's a 25' deck over with a 5' beaver tail. If I wind up with a car at some point I will likely sell it and get an enclosed trailer. That is a very long ways to tow a model t on and open trailer. I have found a place to rent one just south of me an hour.

Wife and I stopped at Bob's on the way to my wife's cousins daughters wedding several years ago. Bob's a great guy and showed us around his impressive collection. Many great cars, can't honestly remember the 14 much other than we did see it. It was a short side stop of a trip where T's weren't high on the priority list.

There are many options, you could have it shipped to you. I sold a vintage tent trailer to a guy in California. The buyer had a guy pick it up with an enclosed semi trailer/car hauler. There were 4 or 5 other vehicles in the load going west. It was like an open car hauler they use for new cars but it was fully enclosed. I'm sure it was expensive but it arrived safely. Sadly the guy had it about a year until it was lost in one of the big fires (believe it was the Park fire) along with his son's house where it was stored. Fortunately none of his family was hurt.

If you wait until the ferry resumes operation across lake Michigan it would cut off about 400 miles of a round trip. Not much faster, but it beats going through Chicago at rush hour.
