Original 1913 Model T Ford light delivery price drop

Post by YellowTRacer » Wed Jun 26, 2024 6:16 pm

Hard to believe that almost nobody values an original, not made up or repro bodied model T Ford. A true historical vehicle throughout. The original 30X3 1/2 wheels are worth half of the asking price. I'll drop the price again for the last effort to see this get a good home. $7,800.00. As mentioned before this is a true “barn find”. Been stored in a barn for at least 65 years and now finally back into circulation. A correct 1913 chassis and body with updated fenders (1915). You’re seeing it as found and still covered with the many years of dust. A neat piece of history with some unique original accessory equipment. The only items that are not 1913 is the front non tapered leaf spring, and the 1915/16 front and rear fenders. All else appears to be 1913. The original hood is there, just not on the car. And all the accessory items are of that same early teens era. Five 30 X 3 ½ wire wheels, Rare side drive Bosch magneto ignition, front shock absorbers and double wishbone, running board spare tire mounts, and the unique light delivery body, that’s solid as a rock. It appears that this little truck was revived with a little “fix up” work sometime during the 1950s and then went back in the barn. The engine cranks over okay, with compression, but no attempt has been made to start it, and the gas cap is “glued” to the tank from the years of storage. The head and tail lights are missing. A real time capsule. Regarding the pictures, the one lunger stationery engine on the bed is not included in the sale and doesn’t go with the truck. If you want more pictures email me at karened4@att.net. Again new price is $7,800.00.

Ed I don't think it's anything to do with no one valuing this nice car/truck rather than it's showing maybe a "sign of the times" that the pool of guys willing to either tackle a project or just have one "as is" is thinning rapidly. And very few young-uns either want a project, can afford to get a good buy of a project and then put a lot of $$ in it, and then there's just not enuf young folks interested period. Don't despair, someone will pick it up eventually.

I suspect some of it as well is just money. There are a lot of good (no, great) deals out there - this one, Bodine's model N, and a few others - that are (IMO) way underpriced. Problem is money (especially for the younger crowd) is tight tight. Hell, I just got my tax bill for this year, and it would pay for BOTH of the aforementioned cars... or at least one of them and the freight to get it here.

It's not for lack of desire - or love - that they are stuck not moving. When I read the ads I get sad, because I *can't* save either. It's certainly not that I don't want to - quite the opposite - but what;s the old saying about blood out of a rock? Yeah.

I can't do it. I KNOW there are people here who *could", and barring personal or other commitments would.

Yep ur right Susanne. Boils down to money. So many ain't got any discretionary funds. Just saw a YouTube from a guy who bought groceries online in 2022 and went back to the website and hit the "reorder SAME now" button just to compare and the price was THREE TIMES what it was in '22! Yeh Mr. B---...things sure ARE better now! BS!
