Wanted: rear fender mount
I’m looking for a rear fender mount rod that screws into the rear quarter pillar for a Centerdoor Sedan.
You’d think the ones for tourings were the same, but they are not. They are 1/2 inch shorter than CD ones.
I thought I had found one at Luray, but alas, it is too short. (Only paid $5 for it, so no big loss)
The threads on the end are all the same. IF I had an acetylene torch I could straighten the one that I need to have fixed.
Just seeing what’s out there. These are not reproduced.

It is similar to that in length only. It doesn’t have the large boss on it. The two that I have are equal length. And are longer than touring ones.

I have a lot of these parts, if you show a photo, I will look at what is there. If anyone needs brackets for wood cars, I may have them. Ken

Re: Wanted: rear fender mount
This is what I’m looking for. The CD ones that I have are 8 inches in total length (including threaded area)
The one I bought is 1/2 inch shorter.
The diameter is the same on both. I know the threads posted above discussed what these look like. But those were not what was on my body. And the body is ‘22
If the ones with the square boss are 100% correct for ‘22, then so be it. I guess I’ll never find them. (One of the mounts I cannot remove yet. It’s tight).

Pretty darn sure that is a forging not casting so could be done cold.

I’ve tried that and my vise isn’t man enough. Even though it’s bolted to a table.Mark Gregush wrote: ↑Tue May 28, 2024 4:02 pmPretty darn sure that is a forging not casting so could be done cold.
