FS Wheel and Tires

I have the spoke wheels, rims, and tires that were on my 26 Tudor. I have upgraded to wire wheels and selling these. They Do Not have the hubs in them as I used them on the car. I have bolted the front side ring and fender washers on the backside to hold wheel together tight. Also included is the spare rim (no tire) and the rim Y carrier that attaches to the spare mount on the rear of the car. Asking $250 obo for all of it. Pick up or can ship on a pallet, buyer pays shipping.

You do know the wood wheel hubs will not work with wire wheels? That usually ends up ruining the wire wheels.

Why is this? I have made adapter plates that fit the wheel with the same measurements as the wire wheel hub. They are centered and chamfered to fit the hub exactly. I guess I don't understand your meaning.

If you made them just like Real wire wheel hubs they may work.
Have to support the wheel like a real Ford hub, not just the lug nuts holding the load.

Adapters do not support the wheel in the center hub. All the support comes from the stud nuts only. Modern vehicles all have a center casting or hub that fits the center rim I.D. close. Those adapters are dangerous. Prone to failure. There was a recent post where a rear failed on a roadster pickup. That fellow learned the hard way, dont do the same. Get the correct original hubs. They are typically cheaper than adapters anyway.

Please excuse my comments in a for sale ad. This is something I avoid.
The exception when there is dander to the driver & others on the road.

The flat back of the Model T wire wheel is not strong unless it is supported on the outside also. Correct wire wheel hubs fit snugly into the outer portion of the wheel supporting them better. Model A wire wheels have a formed back and are much stronger.
Without the proper support they will crack at the lug nut holes and or around the hub ring area eventually.
Some say they can even feel the wheels flex in turns.
They sell the adapters but, it is your choice to take the risk or not.

I made these adapters, they are not the flat plate with studs like those sold by various vendors. The dimensions are those of the wire wheel hubs, They DO support the wheel on the outer hub edge of the wheel. Just like the Ford wire wheel hubs do. Thanks, I appreciate your concern.

What is the date(s) of this in west bend? If time would allow, I would try and make a couple adapters And bring along with me, depending on time of course.
