Yes! I was just thinking about that the 4 door is under the seat thebrest are cowl mount

I always thought they were the same, but doing a little research led me to information the open cars were a little shorter and the radius was different. A note on the VowellArt illustration also notes this and advises they cannot be interchanged.

The 26-27 Cowl tank fits the Roadster, Touring, Coupe, and 2dr sedan.
The TT Truck, Car Chassis, and Fordor kept the Oval Tank of previous years.
The Fordor sedan body was just a modified cowl with general improvements body that was introduced in 1923.
These were still made by outside suppliers and have lots of variances and improvements over the years.
The differences between the years and makers could fill pages of print.

That said, the "1926" and "1927" cowl tanks are different in the outlet fitting casting, overflow tube, and where the overflow lock screw is located.
The screw was moved to make assembly easier coming down the production line.
It is a subtle change and not usually noticed, the whole tank and overflow tube assembly interchange.

Model T parts are a rolling evolution of improvements through the years.
For every "rule" there is at least one exception.
