FS Used Drive Shaft Spool and Bearing Sets

Post by TRDxB2 » Wed Mar 06, 2024 1:07 am

These came from an estate sale of an avid Model T & A car owner (Caterpillar Company engineer). I don't have enough experience to evaluate them, just trusting the previous owners expertise for having kept them. The bearing cages have some twist but everything fits tight when assembled. Ask questions and I'll try to answer. Sets 1 & 2 are $55 each set 3 is $60. Additional charge for shipping.

ANY twist is not serviceable - IMO.

I need to check them again may have used the wrong term. I had one, axle Hyatt, were the holes for the rods were elongated causing lots of twist & lean, really bad. Are ones that lean a bit with slight or no twist salvageable? What about the other parts think I'll start a discussion..
Thanks for you assessment!

Measure the rollers on each end & the middle to determine how much extra wear came from loose races cages.
A loose cage causes rollers to wear cigar shaped.

I started a discussion on Hyatt evaluation & restore. Came across what you indicated to measure, will do & add to the above. Lots of other info. viewtopic.php?f=2&t=41783
